Paula Saraste (b. 1981) is a visual artist and filmmaker living and working in Helsinki and Berlin. Her main artistic tools are digital film,
photography and performance. Her works often have a psychological starting point. She is fascinated by the states and layers of the human
mind, their relationship with time as well as questions related to identity. On a formal level her work often deals with the lack of something
essential. She received her MfA Degree from the Finnish Academy of Fine Arts in 2016. In 2017 she had her solo exhibition in Galleria
Huuto, Helsinki and she has taken part in exhibitions in Finland and abroad, most recently Rohto / Remedy in Lahti, Finland (2017), Save
Our Souls at the 9th Ewha International Media Art Presentation
in Seoul (2016) and Haunt in Berlin (2018).
